Many things have been written about the 300 movie workout, with many bloggers and authors documenting the grueling exercises the actors of the movie “300″ endured in order to develop the necessary physiques.

The real story is actually a little deeper than just a list of exercises – it begins and ends with trainer and mountaineer, Mark Twight.

Born in 1961, Mark Twight became famous in the 1980s and 1990s for his daring mountaineering adventures in various Alpine ranges around the world.

He has written numerous books on his adventures and acts as a fitness consultant to the military, athletes and individuals who want something more grueling from their training.

In 2005 Twight trained the actors and crew of the movie “300″ – with remarkable results. His philosophy of “appearance is a consequence of fitness” goes against the modern trend of appearance above all and transforms bodies into functional machines capable of amazing feats – similar to the Spartans.
