Autologous Fat Transfer (AFT)

This is something like the grafting. In this, the fat is taken from another site of your own body and then it is injected in the skin. Since, the fat will not behave as foreign body as it is taken from your own body, this fat which is placed beneath the superficial layer in your skin will elevate the depressed scars. The whole technique is used to correct the scars made by nodulocystic acne. The fat will replace the bad material. Since, the fat has tendency to reabsorbed, you may need to repeat the procedure over a period of months.

Chemical peels

This method is used to treat superficial scars, skin damaged by sun or heat stroke and for irregular pigmentation. The special chemical is applied on the top of the skin which will remove the superficial layer of the skin. The body has natural tendency to regenerate the superficial layer or cells of the skin. This natural procedure will replace the damaged skin and often improves the complexion and appearance of the skin.

Punch grafts

This is mainly used to replace the scarred skin. The hole is made to remove the scar. This is done by punching and hence known as punch graft. Once the scar is removed, it is replaced by unscarred skin. This unscarred skin is usually taken from the back of the one’s own earlobe. This method is very effective in the scars especially deep-seated.
