Baby with common cold : common cold treatment and care

Common cold:-

If the new born has congestion or runny nose, the parents will suffer lot. Elders can tell their problems but not the babies. The dullness, crying, snuffing, refuse to take feed are manifested by the common cold having child. During infancy babies are highly susceptible for infections.
common cold is an upper respiratory tract infection caused by viruses.

• Cold is the common infection seen in babies.

• Babies get common cold infection when elders sneezes or coughs.

• If we touch the baby with contaminated hands, also baby get infection of cold.

• Common cold affected child will get fever.

• Don’t be panic by seeing suffering baby.

• Usually cold may seen in babies till 6 to 10 days.

Prevention and control common cold:-

• Breast feeding is the best method to preventing common cold.

• Don’t allow the infected person to touch baby.

• Don’t sneeze or cough in the babies room environment.

• If mother is a smoker, give up smoking.

• If cold persists along with fever for more  than two days, consult physician for help.
