With the advancement in science, a good research has gone in the field of acne scars and cosmetic treatments, although limited have been found for the removal of the acne scars.

Irrespective of the sex of a person, acne, a skin mark that badly affects both, starts from teenage years to continuing through adulthood. Laser Resurfacing:
In this type of cure, laser therapy is used to remove the old scratched skin so that new skin may grow there.

Dermabrasion:
In this treatment, the damaged skin is either iced up or made insensitive after which a machine is used to take out the damaged skin, so that new skin can grow.

Augmentation:
In this method, a material is inserted under the scar which helps it to level off with surface of the skin. Many a times, collagen mostly used but even at times one’s one fat is also used.

Subcision:
In this treatment, the scar is detached from the deeper tissues. This allows a puddle of blood to structure under the scar which then coagulates and helps to form connective tissues underneath the scar and as a result it levels off with the surface.

Chemical Peels:
Mild acid is used in this course of action to remove the top layer of the skin so that new and smoother layer can grow.

Punch Technique:
In this treatment, there are three techniques available: Punch excision, punch elevation and punch replacement. In this course of action, pitted scar is removed and then the wound is closed and then allowed to heal.

Retin:
This is an excellent remedy for scarring, however it has some side effects and hence a dermatologist should be consulted before going for this treatment.
