1. Have you heard of double cleansing?

Well, if you answered “Yes” to question number one but “No” to question number two, well then you’re about to learn something that might change your skin forever, in a much MUCH better way.

You see, whether you wear a modest amount of makeup or if you like to go full on, at the end of the day it’s best that you double cleanse, because once is not enough. Your skin will thank you for it.

Double Cleansing: Because Sometimes Once Is Not EnoughThink about this, your face one of the very few parts of you that is exposed all day long. Unless you put on a mask, your face will have to face dust, particles, and other environmental factors too. But the potential damage doesn’t stop there. What about perspiration and oil secretion that comes from within? This just makes things worse.

Did you know that when it comes right down to skin care, there are two types of impurities that you have to combat: Oil based, like sebum and make up, then you have your water based ones. This is where dust, bacteria, dead skin cell, perspiration, and other environmental factors come in.

Double trouble? Double Cleansing!

Just as it sounds, instead of cleansing your face once, you do it twice to make sure that you get rid of all the gunk. But that doesn’t mean that you should just wash the same way one after the other.

The 2 Step Guide To Double Cleansing:

1. Remove Makeup and Sunscreen– Start with dry hands and a dry face. Our top pick for getting rid of makeup and sunscreen the safe way is with a cleansing oil. Apply a small amount to your fingers and simply massage on to the skin focusing on your T-zone, cheeks, and chin. Massage in a circular motion to really dissolve unwanted impurities. Do so for about 30 seconds to a minute. Then rinse off with water.

2. Cleanse Skin- Wash your face as you normally would with your regular routine that’s best for your skin type. Rinse off and pat dry.

When done with your double cleansing, follow up with your favorite night cream/moisturizer/oil.

Be sure to tie your hair first if long enough, of not, pull it back with a headband. You want to make sure you clean all the way up to your hairline.

One spot, or two actually, that a lot of us sometimes miss is behind the ears. So don’t forget to clean those areas too.
