Ear infection : cause, symptoms, treatment of Ear infection

Ear infections:-

Ear infections are most commonly occurs in children below age of 5 years. Nearly 48 to 72 percent of of children will get ear infection at least once in these age group.
” inflammation of the middle ear caused by an infective agent such as bacteria, is called as ear infection”.

Otitis media is the medical term used to indicate middle ear infection. As the middle ear infection causes severe inflammation, it causes fever and pain in the infected child. middle ear infection may also lead to upper respiratory tract infection. Hence importance to be given to treat ear infection.

causes of ear infection:-

viruses are the most common causative agents of ear infection, associated with common cold chances of middle ear infections are high. swelling of eustachian tube in the ear obstructs the out flow of secretions; theses accumulated secretions provide an opportunity to establish ear infection.
children have low immune power are more prone to get ear infection

Symptoms of ear infection:-

* children may not be able to identify and tell the trouble in ear.
* the symptoms to be identified by the physician or elders by listening to child complaints.
* the common complaints of citrons are
* pain in ear
* irritation inside ear
* small kids cries unusually
* fever
* headache
* secretion from ear.

Treatment of ear infection:-

the doctor will treat ear infection after thorough clinical examination, with appropriate pharmacotherapy.
