Got hurt opening cap of bottle with teeth, remedial advice sought

I got badly hurt while I was trying to open the cap of the bottle with my teeth. I caught the cap tightly between my teeth and twisted the bottle, suddenly the cap slipped from my teeth and the bottom of my teeth got hurt with the hard plastic of the cap. There was slight bleeding from the gums and I feel pressure in that area and that the gums in the hurt area has become loose. What will happen to my teeth? Will I lose my tooth? I am much worried. Please advise me.

Answer (by Dr. Chirag Semlani): Don’t try to open bottles or don’t insert any  sharp objects inside the mouth as this can be dangerous for the  gum and to the teeth. You should preferably refer to the dentist for the check up of the tooth, as sometimes the trauma caused by opening bottles can lead to tooth fractures and deep gum cuts.
