Heart attack : signs and symptoms

Heart attack :-

Heart attack is defined as inability of heart muscle to contract (to pump blood) due to reduced blood supply to particular part of myocardial tissue.
sudden dysfunction of heart due to myocardial cell death as a result of decreased blood supply to particular part. coronary artery diseases are the most common causes of heart attack. heart attack has become the leading cause of death in united states, both in men and women.

Signs and symptoms of heart attack:-

* chest pain or discomfort : pain may be moderate to severe intensity. usually the pain is squeezing and radiating type. duration of pain is 2 to 30 minutes.
* pain radiates to left arm, neck, and shoulder region.
* continuous sweating, even in normal room temperature.
* nausea, vomiting and abdominal discomfort.
* breathing difficulty i.e. breathlessness may occur .
