What You Need:

  • Hibiscus Flowers
  • Hibiscus Leaves
  • Water

What To Do:

It really depends on how long your hair is. Just follow this ratio:

1:5 – 1 whole hibiscus flower is to 5 hibiscus leaves.

Soak the hibiscus flowers and leaves in water overnight. The next day, the water should be a reddish, purplish color. Then heat until it comes to a simmer. You don’t want to “over cook” your hibiscus or it will be drained of all the good stuff. Cool. Store until ready to use.

How To Apply:

The first thing you want to do is shampoo your hair and rinse as you normally would. But instead of reaching for conditioner, grab your homemade hibiscus hair tonic instead. Massage into hair from root to tip. Do not rinse off.

Then you want to wrap your hair in either a shower cap or an old towel. Let it sit for a good 30-40 minutes. Rinse off until clear of any color. Towel dry.

  • TIP: You can follow up with running a few drops of Argan Oil or Coconut Oilthrough your hair too.
