A long and stressful day deserves a long and soothing soak. But to make your tub time even better, instead of just having a bath, have an aromatherapy bath and find out what it really means to relax.
When it comes to calming, Lavender oil is key.
- That is why this homemade lavender bath salt recipe is just perfect, plus you’ll end up smelling really nice after. It’s super simple to make and yet super effective to help you unwind and de-stress. Ingredients and instructions below:
What You Need:
- 1 Cup Epsom Salt
- 1 Tablespoon Baking Soda
- 3-5 Drops Lavender Oil
- 1 Glass Jar (about 8 0z.)
- Dried Up Lavender (optional)
What To Do:
First of all, make sure you have all the ingredients ready. Second, make sure that your glass jar is clean and dry. I’ve found that Mason jars are particularly good for this because they are air tight! Third make your lavender bath salts.
All you need to do is start with the Epsom salt. Put it in the glass jar then mix in the baking soda, then mix in the lavender oil. Continue to mix well.
If you have decided to add some dried up lavender, mix that in too!
Done. Seal. Store. Use.
How To Use:
When the tub is halfway the desired level, take about a handful of your homemade lavender bath salts and hold under your running faucet little by little. Make sure the water is nice and warm. This will allow the bath salts to dissolve into the water in your tub evenly. With the help of the steam, your whole bathroom will smell like lavender in no time.
Jump right in and soak it up. Enjoy for a good 15-20 minutes. If you really wanna enhance the experience, light a few candles and play some soothing tunes.
