My teeth are very sensitive. I feel pain and unbearable sensation whenever I drink hot or cold liquids. My 7 year old child also has few cavities. Is there any method which can prevent further development of cavities in his teeth? What can I do for my sensitive teeth? Answer (by Dr. Chirag Semlani): Hypersensitivity is the most common dental problem people facing nowadays. There is no permanent treatment, but there are some dental therapeutic sensitive paste which can give you relief from sensitivity. Its better you get your dental check up done with the X Ray to rule out cavities, because cavitation also causes sensitivity to hot and cold. Children are too having lots of dental problem nowadays and that’s mostly due to the lifestyle they follow. Get the cavities filled for your child, if avoided can lead to problems. Follow simple rules of oral hygiene maintenance. Avoid sticky food like chocolates, cakes, biscuits, wafers, junk food etc. Eating proper balanced diet with good amount of fruits and vegetables will really help.
