Play in children:

children develop their physical and intellectual abilities during play. They develop moral values through playing with others.
Play can help to develop creativity and provide a therapeutic release from stress and tension produced by environmental influences.

Physical: children develop their muscular and sensory abilities through play. Infants and young children develop their sensory through the tactile visual and auditory sensations derived from playing with rattles balls and other toys. Toddlers and pre-school children enjoy large muscle activity such as climbing, running and exploring the environment. School age children organize their movement into more complex forms such as roller or ice scatting racing, bicycle riding etc.

Intellectual:-  play helps the children to develop intellectually. Through play they learn counting numbers, classifying objects, differentiating the things, identifying colors, textures, shapes, name of objects etc.  they will learn abstract thinking and problem solving technique. they increase the language ability.

Moral:-  the children learn moral value through play. They learn honesty, integrity, not to cheat others, sportsmanship, compassion, judging correctly, etc. the children keep out the child who disobeys the rules of group. Hence child learns to behave in the social acceptable manner.

Creative:-  play helps to develop creativity in the children as the children uses different things for the play. They assume the plastic piece as a gun, small stones as balls; they will build home with the help of sticks. They uses match box as bus, lorry etc. they play the different role of teacher, doctor, engineer, vegetable seller etc. it enhances them to develop creativity. Children are more creative when they are playing alone.

Therapeutic:-  play helps all age group to come out of stress, and tension. As it diverts ones attention towards it, helps the individual to come out of their own thinking. Play keeps the mind active. It helps the individual to cope with others, to interact, and to express their own talent, children can express their emotions.

Socialization:-  play helps an individual to interact with others. As the elders mingle with children they will guide them how to act with elders and with other children. The social and emotions developed through play.
