Pulled an all nighter? Had one too many drinks? Stressed out? Cry much? Or is age the main culprit? Well, whatever the case may be, puffy, tired eyes can be hard to hide, unless it’s behind a good pair of shades. But for those who want to carry on sunglass free, the trick is in the tea.
If you fight fire with fire, why not fight bags with bags? Eye bags with tea bags that is. Sure, the cucumber is good, but black or green tea is way better.
You see, caffeinated tea can actually help reduce swelling as it is known to constrict blood vessels. Chamomile more your thing? Great! Herbal teas actually have anti inflammatory and anti irritant properties that helps soothe tired eyes and take the puffiness away.
Now, drinking the tea won’t really help your eyes much, although depending on which one you take in, will help you in numerous other ways. Green tea for instance is one of the best sources of antioxidants.
So here’s what you do….
What You Need:
- 2 Tea bags
- 1 Cup of Hot Water
- 1 Face Towel
What To Do:
Take the two tea bags of you choice and steep them in the cup of hot water for about 43-5 minutes. Take them out and let them cool until they are nice and warm. Find a place to lie down, make sure it’s comfy, close your eyes, and place one tea bag over each. The place the face towel over your eye area (over the tea bags).
Let the tea bags sit there for a good 15-20 minutes. This is the perfect time for you to relax, unwind, or even catch up on some sleep that you may have missed.
