PUS Cells after delayed menstrual period

For last about 6 weeks, I have not had menstrual periods. I got investigation done and examination shows PUS Cells of 30-40 /hpf. I am not sure whether the periods have got delayed due to pregnancy or due to some type of infection. Can you please advise me what should I do? Is it a serious cause of concern? I am asking you since my doctor did not explain it properly to me. If it is some serious issue, then I may have to change the doctor. Please advise me urgently.

Answer (by Dr. Neelam Dhamija): To confirm your pregnancy, please do urine pregnancy test. Presence of so many pus cells in urine indicates presence of urinary infection.Картинки по запросу PUS Cells menstrual Please do urine culture and sensitivity test. This test will show that which type of bacteria is causing the infection and which antibiotic will be effective in this case. You may be given antibiotics  accordingly and syrup for making your urine alkaline. Drink plenty of water. Consult your gynaecologist if you are pregnant, you will require regular check-ups, she will advise you few blood tests and other tests from time to time and start with folic acid.
