Furosemide and Mannitol Suppression of Epileptic Activity in the Human Brain (reprint of February Epub here)
 
Are certain diuretics also anticonvulsants? (Furosemide and chlorothiazide)

It is my opinion that the GABA reversal is the link between epilepsy and BD (also add IBS, Fibromaglia ect). In particular the role of NKCC1 AND KCC2 in regulation chloride. One folder that I have on my computer has over 300 hundred links to papers related to this.  
 
I  came across and interesting Patent that you may find interesting.

Just noticed that the Dr. Hochman in your first link is the one on the patent.
 
I sent him some links to information in Feb. 2006.
