Researchers have found a relation between sitting for long periods of time with a number of health problems and premature death from heart disease. The information is got from the research conducted by the Institute for Public Health Medicine in the United States.

In a study, adults who spend time with watching TV for four hours a day increased the risk of death from heart disease by 80 %; it is compared with adults who spend less than two hours a day in front of the TV. The risk is also caused by the other factors such as smoking or diet is not balanced. It is not only caused by prolonged sitting while watching TV alone.

However, too long to sit in a chair all day at work can also increase the risk to your health problems, such as obesity along with a number of chronic health complications that accompany it. When the body does not move enough in a day, the body’s response will be slow. That condition causes the interference with the metabolism of the body, including the metabolism of carbohydrates and fats in the body, as well as blood circulation and oxygen.

To make the health risk to be lower, you need to move more. It is advisable to stand for a few minutes after sitting for a long time. With stand and perform other light physical activity, like walking, you have to burn three times more calories than when you are just sitting on a chair. When you sit down, muscle contraction was just a little, especially if you are sitting in front of the TV without doing anything!
