Smooth skin smoothies – 3 great anti aging homemade recipes

These great anti aging drinks put the SMOOTH in smoothies- think wrinkle free, vibrant, youthful glowing skin.  Everyone knows that a good smoothie is one celebrity secret (obviously not a well kept one!) that keeps them fit and trim, and looking young, but not everyone can afford to sip away at the Beverly Hills Juice Club.

Well, you don’t need to sit on the lap of luxury just to have a taste of the good stuff.  So forget all of those high end places and whip one up yourself right at home.

Smooth Skin Smoothie # 1

Smooth Skin SmoothiesWhat You Need:

  • 1 cup of blueberries
  • 5 strawberries
  • 3 slices of pear
  • 1/4 of an avocado
  • 2 teaspoons of ground flaxseed

Why It Helps:

Obviously, the key ingredients in this smoothie would have to be the berries.  Why else do you think you need one whole cup of blueberries alone?  Berries are jam packed with antioxidants which do wonders to keep the wrinkles away.  So it is safe to say that they are BERRY good for you (yes, pun intended).

Avocado is another great anti aging fruit, might even be of the best!  Pair that with the pear and you have got yourself a good dose of vitamin E and C.  But what really helps get you that glow is the flaxseed, thanks to the Omega-3, which is also really good for your heart.

Antioxidans=Anti aging.  They fight away those nasty free radicals, give cell regeneration a much needed boost, and do wonders for your immune system as well as the digestive one.

Plus, anti oxidants are good for your heart, good for your brain, good for your visions, and are even good for your urinary track too (keeping away UTI).

What You Need:

  • 3 slices of papaya
  • 3 slices of carrot
  • 3 slices of pear
  • 1 orange, juiced
  • 1 small piece fresh ginger

Why It Helps:

What do papayas, carrots, and pears all have in common?  Aside from finding them in the same section atthe grocery, they are all excellent sources of Beta-Carotine.

Vitamins from those three plus what you will get from the Orange juice (mainly vitamins C and E) aren’t only good for the skin but for your health too- upping your immune system and fighting away the flu.

Ginger if full of antioxidants, it has over 50 for crying out loud!  Not to mention that it is great for repairing damaged tissue too.

Beta-Carotene fights free radicals.  It helps protect your skin from those darn UV rays.  It even helps prevent various forms of cancer too.

What You Will Need:

  • 1/3 cup of blueberries
  • 1/3 cup of raspberries
  • 1/3 cup of guava
  • 1/2  beetroot, juiced
  • 1 small piece ginger
  • 2 slices of bittergourd

Why It Helps:

Okay, so we’ve already covered the anti aging benefits of berries and ginger earlier on, so let’s just skip that and move on to the others on the list.

If you thought that oranges were the best source of Vitamin C, you clearly haven’t heard about guavas.  You can get up to 5 times more from this fruit, no joke.

Beetroot and bittergourd also add to the vitamin content, but their main role is detox- another must do to have healthy, young looking skin.  Actually, getting rid of unwanted toxins isn’t only for your skin but for your all around health too.
